Hiking - BC

A common Calgary pastime, of course. Perpetually under construction...

Follow the hyperlinks to hike-specific pages.

Note: I have the Topo Maps Canada app on my phone, which is helpful for route-finding.

Kootenay National Park

Stanley Glacier [August 1, 2019]

  • Fairly easy hike with nice views, and more strenuous options past the official trail

Invermere

Pedley Pass [August 2, 2019]

  • Strenuous short hike (2km, 300 m elevation) to panoramic views; well worth the effort. Options to visit a tarn and create a loop with a ridge walk.

Panorama Summit [August 3, 2019]

  • A steep slog (even with the help of the chair lift!) but nice views along the way

Shannon Falls Provincial Park

Shannon Falls [June 2018]

  • Short walk to a fairly impressive waterfall. Can also view from the top via the Sea to Sky gondola.
