Fullerton Loop [June 2020]

  • Easy half-day hike close to Calgary. Very popular trail. Go counter-clockwise for shaded valley ascent and views at the end. Go clockwise for steeper ascent with views and shaded return.


Grassi Lakes and Riders of Rohan [many times]

  • Easy hike to pretty lakes


Ha Ling Peak [many times]

  • Short scramble with moderate effort and fantastic views.


Jumpingpound Summit [June 21, 2020]

  • Easy switchback ascent with moderate elevation gain to panoramic views. Very worthwhile!


Peak 336454 (The G8 Summits) [August 3, 2014]

  • Nice views, but definitely an unpleasant slog for most of the way.


Prairie Mountain [June 25, 2022]

  • Short and steep (sometimes very steep!) but with excellent panoramic views; can be made into a nice loop with Prairie Creek Trail


Prairie View Lookout [May 20, 2013]

  • Easy early season trail with decent views


Prairie View Lookout and Jewell Pass [June 11, 2022]

  • Longish loop with good views of Barrier Lake and surrounding peaks


Rawson Lake & Ridge [August 4, 2014]

  • Spectacular views of Rawson Lake, and Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes. Horrible slog up to the ridge, but well worth it.


Three Trail Pass and North Powderface Ridge [June 14, 2020]

  • Easy ascent and ridge walk. Very nice views of Nahahi Ridge.


Upper Kananaskis Lake [July 2019]

  • Very nice day hike, with minimal elevation and very nice views along the entire trail; go counter-clockwise for the best views.


Yamnuska [many times]

  • Slightly difficult (some chains) with scree skiing at the end!
